kau2, collective part. In Rar. mostly before ta‘unga, but used more widely elsewhere in the Cook Islands for other groups of people.
Kua ‘aere mai te kau ta‘unga a te ariki ki mua i tōna aroaro.
The king’s counsellors came before him;
te au kau ta‘unga o te au ‘ākono‘anga,
priests of various denominations;
taua kau ta‘unga nunuī ra,
those high priests (Heb. 7.27).
