Kua keke ‘a Manu i te rākau.
Manu sawed the wood;

Tēia te rākau keke.
Here is the sawn timber;

Tēia te rākau kā keke.
Here is the timber for sawing;

E tari mai i tō rākau ki te ngā‘i keke‘anga.
Bring your timber to the sawmill;

Kua kekea te rima maki.
The infected arm was amputated;

E ‘apai mai i te keke.
Bring the saw. Keke ‘āuri, hacksaw. Keke tī pū, crosscut saw. (See kekekeke.)
