kōua, n. A coconut which has not yet matured into the stage when it is best for drinking (between pei and nū, q.v.).
Kua nga‘anga‘ā te kōua i tōna ‘a‘aki‘anga.
He broke the immature drinking nuts when picking them;

The milk in
nuts hasn’t developed its full sweetness.
