tā‘ata

tā‘ata, (-‘ia). Rest or place something on top of something else, lay something on or across.

E tā‘ata i te rākau ki tēta‘i tua i te kauvai ka ‘aere ei nā runga ki tēta‘i tua.
Lay the plank across the stream before you go across;

Kāre ‘e pātini toe nō te tā‘ata nā runga ake i teia ‘āpapa pi‘a.
