‘ītoro2, n. Idol.

Kua ‘anga rātou i taua ‘ītorō ra ‘ei atua nō rātou.
They fashioned the idol to be their god;

I ‘akamori ana tō mātou ‘ui tupuna i te atua ‘ītoro.
Our ancestors worshipped gods which were idols;

Te au idolo no te etene, e ario ia e te auro.
