tāngarongaro

tāngarongaro, (-a -‘ia), fq. tāngaro.

1. Cause to disappear, rub right out, obliterate, lose something; hide something away.

Tāngarongaroa tā kōtou toka.
Clean your slates off;

Kua tāngarongaro‘ia e Maka tāna au pata ‘uā puka.
Maka lost his

puka-seed
marbles.

2. v.i. Get oneself lost or hidden.

‘Auraka kōtou e tāngarongaro ‘aere, ka ‘aere tātou kā keri ka‘i ākonei ake.
