tāmoumou, (-a, -‘ia), fq. tāmou.

1. Fasten, fix securely.

Kua tāmoumou rātou i te tūtū ki runga i te pāruru ‘are.
They put the pictures up on the walls;

Kua tāmoumoua te kāka‘u i runga i te taura.
The clothes were pegged out on the line.

2. Memorise, learn by heart.

E ‘aere kōtou e tāmoumou i te au ‘ī mene.
Go and learn the hymns.

3. A fastener.

Tāria mai te tāmoumou kāka‘u.
Bring the clothes pegs. Tāmoumou pēpa, paper clip.
