1. Right, authority.

Kāre ō‘ou tika‘anga kia tuatua koe.
You have no right to speak;

‘Ea‘a tō‘ou tika‘anga ki tēia ‘enua?
What right have you to this land? Ko te tika‘anga, by rights, the proper thing to do.

Ko te tika‘anga, e nā mua ‘aia i te tūtaki i tāna kaio‘u ka ‘aere atu ei ‘aia.
By rights he ought to pay his debts and then go away.

2. Decision.

Ko te tika‘anga i oti,
the decision that was made.
