vāito,

1. (-a, -‘ia). Measure (size, area, amount, etc.), to measure out, survey (land).

Tē vāito nei au i te ‘ō‘onu o te vai.
I‘m measuring the depth of the water;

Ko te tōmāti rikiriki tā‘au e vāito.
You must grade (sort out) the small tomatoes;

Ko te punu vāito ū tēnā nā te pēpe.
